june 12th

today was absolutely insane. we had a HUGE group come down and we worked hard all morning to clean the dorms and the entire campus before they got here. then when they got here we also had 2 childrens homes here for a pool party. there were a ton of people. the one group brought over 800 t shirts and 2000 soccer balls and kleets. so it was a huge donation. today was my day to work in the kitchen. that lasted all of 10 minutes before i cut my finger while slicing watermelon. they were going to take me to get stitches, but luckily i barely made it without them. i also get sick at the sight of blood. my hand was completely covered and i was either going to throw up or pass out. thank goodness they sat me down and put a wash cloth on my head and got me water. the rest of the day all i did was supervise because my wound kept reoopening and more blood would come oozzing out of the bandaids. then at worship tonight i got stung by a bee. it has been one of those days. i cant wait for it to be over so i can wake up with a new attitude tomorrow :)! keep us in your prayers that we have the energy and strength to get through this next week which is going to be insane!

  1. I was so glad we got to talk to you last night, even though it was from Skype to cell phone to cell phone! Isn't modern technology great! Sounds like you had a rough day yesterday, hopefully today is going better for you. We had a big storm here yesterday too, the drain clogged up in the driveway so we got some water in the garage and basement. What a great thing to come home to. Keep up the good work down there and work safely. No more cuts!

  2. Hey Victoria,
I am praying for you and I am praying that your week goes much better than your weekend. Bee stings and fingertips cut off sounds like a great weekend?!
It is hard to believe that your first week is already over but I am excited to hear what this week brings. Leading a bible study huh? That is really exciting and I am sure you are a little nervous but I am sure that God will help you to teach others.
Daddy and I had a really good weekend and Uncle Fuzzy and Aunt Cindy loved getting to talk with you and Adam what a great surprise.
I am looking forward to checking your blog. I do not like when I can't read it for a few days.
I hope you have a wonderful week and I hope you have a great group to work with and I hope you don't have any more injuries.
I love you to the moon and back!

  3. Hey girly,
I'll be honest...after I heard watermellon-that's all I've been wanting. Allen said, "way to tori, now I have to go to the store-AGAIN!" haha!! Next week will be better, maybe God is testing your ability to keep going and not give up after a few mishaps. I will keep you all in my prayers as always! I wish I had the guts to leave home for a month, that's pretty awesome. Allen and I had a meeting with the Pastor today to talk about joining a small group during the week day. We wanted one that had young adults in it, and there aren't many right now- so pray that God works new people into the church and we can start one!! I have my frist prenatal apt here in ky tomorrow and HOPEFULLY I will know what the sex is!! I will keep you posted. I hope you get to see Juanita tomorrow. Good luck with leading your bible study. You're good at making people laugh over silly things, so if you get tongue tied break the ice by saying something goofy! (just use say something I say thinking it sounds good lol) ;) Miss you pretty girl!

    Love,
    Chelsea
